アレックス・バートシクはトロント及びモントリオールを拠点に活動するアーティスト。
最近はカナダ、オンタリオ州、ミシサガにスタジオを構える。オンタリオ州、キングストンのクイーンズ大学で芸術学士を2001年に取得し、2005年、ケベック州、モントリオールのコンコーディア大学で芸術修士を得る。エリザベス・グリーンシールズ・ファンデーションの助成を２００４年と２００７年の２度受ける。また２００７年にはオンタリオ・アーツ・カウンシル助成と２００４年にはウィリアム・ブレア・ブルース・欧州留学スカラシップを受賞。世界で研究、作品発表をするアーティストである。

バートシックの作品は国内外で発表され、最近ではカナダ（ケベック州、オンタリオ州、アルバータ州）、米国、ドイツ、イタリア、ブラジルそして日本で展示された。彼女の作品はカナダの重要なグループ展、2007年アルバータ州、カルガリーのアートハウスでの「ザ・ドローイング・ショー」と2006年オンタリオ州、ミシサガのアート・ギャラリーにて「カナディアン・コンテンポラリー・フィギュラティブ・アート・エキシビション」で展示された。

現在、バートシクの作品はトロント市のミューズ・ギャラリーで展示されており、また同市ヘッドボーンズ・ギャラリーにコレクションされている。

アレックス・バートシクによって描かれた絵画は新しく作られた物語の主人公として描かれる。彼女の絵画はドローイング・パフォーマンス、インスタレーションそしてアニメーションに広がっている。
