Yuki SHIRAISHI 白石由貴, You Remind Me Of Home, Installation, 2006.

美術作家。スイスで生まれる。ジュネーブ州立芸術大学卒業。名古屋南山大学人間文化研究科博士前期課程に在籍。絵画、空間造形の作品を制作。「場」の精神性について研究。分解された建築の模型をもとに、影や反射などを取入れるインスタレーションを発展。２００５年京都石田大成社ホール、２００７年　「Temps de Mue」（個展）ジュネーブなどで発表。ビデオ作家アンヌ・ソーザーハルの２００７年パリ・オルセー美術館プロジェクトに参加。

My work consists of abstracted models based on existing architectural spaces. The place can be an apartment, the floor of a house, a school building, a factory, hospital, prison, etc. My models are not meant to be replicas of these buildings in any literal sense. Rather, they try to abstract from the visible structure and convey the idea of an architectural building as “living space”: a configuration of forms that distribute space in a particular way and so account for this elusive dimension we call
“the spirit of place”.

Born in 1984, Switzerland.
Lives and works in Geneva Switzerland and Nagoya Japan.
